I really hate all these US vs UK debates, especially when it comes to comedy. Look, I’m an American, I happen to love British humor, but to dismiss all American comedy outright is ridiculous, considering we lay claim to the Marx Brothers, Lenny Bruce, Richard Pryor, Phil Silvers, Buster Keaton, and many more comic geniuses. Sure, we export a lot of tripe, but not all British comedy is this good either. You guys lay claim to Sex Lives of the Potato Men, after all.
@TulseLuper fucking good point,,im english and if there is a worse film than sex lives of the potato men then ot probably has Adam Sandler,,although seeing as America is a country of immigrants laying claim to great American comedians is false in itself,,look i agree with ur sentiments 100percent,,larry david is a genius, bill hicks is a genius, monty python is genius as is extras and the office,,just fucking enjoy it all,,i know i will
@ibez07 Thank you, I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels this way. Sex Lives was never released over here; I sought it out online because I couldn’t believe it was as bad as I heard. Honestly, not even the worst Adam Sandler movies are that terrible. There’s good and bad art everywhere in the world. “Just fucking enjoy it,” couldn’t have said it better.
@motherdadder or maybe it seems stupid because you dont understand the realism that it reflects on an actual office workplace, do some research or maybe i know it might hurt but maybe, just maybe think before you right another one of your dumbass comments. Stay in school.
Oh and please dont reply with some intellectual comment about my mum..
to all the outspoken British: the stuff that comes out of Britain is great, but unless you wrote the show you need to back off. getting worked up about how british humor is better than american humor is the exact bizarre, disconnected and irrelevant team mentality for which Europe criticizes the United States.
by the way, your top-rated ra-ra message has terrible grammar and spelling, you guys sure know how to support an argument for your superior intelligence.
@Aysome Alright sure? I love how people have this view that we always have to be the best. We don’t, we really don’t care. Just because we are good at a lot of things doesn’t mean we’re competing. I personally think we have some great comedians and comedies but if you think your funnier. Then awesome, please post some links of funny stuff you guys have. I love a good laugh.
@TheHair101 replying with canned superiority complex comebacks that are no better than the supposedly canned comeback they are criticizing. you’re cool.
In an argument in which someone is essentially calling me stupid, it’s important that not every other word is spelled incorrectly.
Also, humor is not spelled with a second “u” in the American-English dictionary. But you can argue with me about what the true correct spelling is if you want to start another arbitrary Britain vs. US fight.
@michaelchiboucas it is spelt with a second u. in the english dictionary, from where you shall find the origin of the ‘american-english’ dictionary. btw. it was a fucking joke u dont need to write a fucking essay. fucking hell. cunt. i win.
@TheHair101 ugh. i don’t want to argue. if it was actually joke then I’m sorry, but this is a website infamous for Internet arguments and I had no reason to believe you were kidding. don’t start arguing language origins. all English is bastardized monkey-German and you don’t see them getting on anyone’s case about it.
@Aysome I have to agree with that I mean look at family guy that just rips everything off its ok but some originality would suffice
@Aysome Exactly, we take something not funny at all, and make it hilarious! Like seriously the original office is sooooo shhhtuuupppidddd
i laugh at anything and ive never laughed at anything british that was intended to be humorous.
